Types of Australia Visas
Depending on your purpose of travel, you can apply for one of the following visa types:
For visiting relatives or friends living in Switzerland. Invitation letter required.
For business meetings, conferences, corporate events, or short-term professional activities in Switzerland.
For passengers transiting through a Swiss airport en route to another country.
For leisure trips, sightseeing, exploring the Swiss Alps, or visiting family and friends. Allows stays up to 90 days within 180 days.
Switzerland Visa Requirements for UAE Residents & Other Nationalities
To apply for a Switzerland visa from Dubai or Abu Dhabi, prepare the following documents:
- Valid passport (minimum validity of 6 months beyond travel date + at least 2 blank pages)
- Completed Schengen visa application form
- Two recent passport-sized photographs (as per Schengen photo standards)
- UAE residence visa valid for at least 6 months
- Confirmed flight ticket and hotel booking
- Invitation letter if visiting family, friends, or a Swiss company
- Travel insurance with coverage of at least EUR 30,000 (mandatory)
- Personal bank statement for the last 6 months, stamped
- No Objection Certificate (NOC) from employer or valid trade licence (for business owners)
- Proof of financial means (salary slips, bank balance, sponsorship proof)
- Travel history (previous visas and entry/exit stamps)
Visa Processing Time
Standard Processing: Approximately 15 working days
Peak Season: May take longer due to high volume
Early Application Recommended: Apply at least 30 days before your planned travel date
Visa Validity
Tourist Visa: Allows you to stay in Switzerland for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
Business Visa: Usually valid for short visits up to 90 days.
