Schengen Visa Requirements for UAE Residents & Expats

To apply for a Schengen visa from Dubai or Abu Dhabi, you’ll need:

  • Valid passport (at least 6 months validity beyond travel date)
  • Completed Schengen visa application form
  • Recent passport-sized photographs (biometric standard)
  • Round-trip flight booking
  • Confirmed hotel reservation or invitation letter from a host
  • Travel medical insurance with minimum coverage of €30,000
  • Bank statements for the past 3–6 months showing sufficient funds
  • Employment letter or No Objection Certificate (NOC) from employer
  • Trade license copy (for business owners or self-employed applicants)
  • Travel history (previous visas or entry/exit stamps if available)

Schengen Visa Processing Time

Processing Time: 10–15 working days (longer during peak travel periods)
Priority/Express Options: Available with certain embassies at an additional cost

Visa Validity

Short-Stay Visa: Valid for up to 90 days within a 180-day period
Multiple-Entry Visas: May be issued for 1, 2, or 5 years, depending on travel history and previous visa records

Once issued, you can travel freely to all 27 Schengen countries within the visa validity period.
